Dr. Günter Auerswald is the director of the Institute for Hemophilia and Thrombosis at the Center for Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Children’s Hospital Professor Hess in the Klinikum Bremen-Mitte since 1985. From 1980 to 1985 he worked as a senior physician at the Center for Pediatric Neurology at the Medical Faculty of the University of Lübeck and as head of the coagulation laboratory and coagulation clinic (since 1975). After five years as an assistant doctor at the center of Pediatrics of the University of Lübeck, where he graduated in 1980 the specialist in pediatrics.
Dr. Auerswald is a member of the German Haemophilia Society in the medical advisory board. He is also a member of the Society of Thrombosis and Hemostasis in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the International Society of Thrombosis and hemostasis (ISTH). His main scientific interest is in addition to the rare bleeding disorders such as haemophilia by factor VII deficiency, also called Hypoproconvertinämie, and the factor X deficiency, also known as Stuart-power syndrome
